Wix Automations: How my content guidelines shaped the product

The problem:
Automation components like triggers, actions and automations were being created by different teams and their names and content wasn't consistent. Different writers were writing them (sometimes even devs!) and they had no clear guidelines to follow.
The solution:
I crafted a 49-slide Google Slides file with everything a UX Writer needs to know to write good, clear and consistent content for their team's automations.
This included:
General explanation about automations and their different components
Content guidelines with clear rules and examples for each type of component
Clear instructions on how and where to edit the texts in the Wix Dev Center
Detailed instructions on how to localize these texts

I then scheduled a 3-hour workshop for all UX Writers at Wix, where we went over the new guidelines and worked on existing or new content to make it better and more consistent.
I also made sure that a link to the guidelines appears in the relevant pages in the Dev Center:

Or even added short guidelines inside tooltips:

(By the way, every piece of text in these screenshots was written by me)
The result:
Automation components are finally consistent and clear. UX Writers have access to clear guidelines, the product is more professional and consistent, but most importantly - users are happier.
Today, my guidelines are also part of AI agents used internally throughout Wix to help craft and improve UX content.
